I loved getting to open up Philippians last Sunday! What a treasure this book’s going to be!
I mentioned on Sunday three prayer requests that I’d love for us to be praying for this series and said I’d get those out via email. So, here were the specific requests!
Please pray that the Holy Spirit would be making Jesus more glorious in our eyes, that our bond with one another would only deepen in Him and that our witness would be emboldened. Driving to church each Sunday is a great time to be lifting those things up for our gatherings.
Also, please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. My heart is burdened for them these past few days. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.” And we want to be heeding that for Christians who are now suffering and dying for their faith in Jesus.
Prayer always makes a difference, but there are moments when we feel just how crucial that is. So, thank you for being a church that loves to pray.

Christ Church SGC Adoption Celebrated!
The joy of the Lord filled each one of us at Christ Church throughout Adoption Weekend as we joined with members of our sister churches from Pearland, Round Rock and Midland to refresh, renovate and revitalize our church buildings and grounds. What a blessing!
The weekend culminated with a worship service coupled with the formal adoption of Christ Church into the Sovereign Grace family of churches (SGC), and the formal installation of our new senior pastor, Bart Lipscomb into his new role.
Of course Bart has been here for several weeks already working diligently to organize this physical renewal of the Christ Church property and the adoption process itself. He is tireless in his mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through our local congregation located on League Line Road in Conroe, Texas and around the world through our connection with our sister SGC churches.
Sovereign Grace Churches announces Christ Church adoption
We are pleased to announce that the integration of Christ Church into the Sovereign Grace Churches organization has officially begun. This week Mark Prater spoke about the Christ Church adoption in a conversation with Benjamin Kreps. Here is a quote from the video transcript of the conversation and a link to the original post:
“It just happened last week, officially. A church in Conroe, Texas, which is a Northern suburb of Houston. If you’re familiar with the Houston area, it’s up around the Woodlands section. And Christ Church of Conroe, Texas was officially adopted last week. What I mean by that is that the South Central region voted to formally and officially adopt this church into Sovereign Grace and to be a part of the South Central region. And we’re really excited about this church and having another church not only here in the States, but in the Houston area.” – Mark Prater, Executive Director of Sovereign Grace Churches.
